When asked to comment on the rumors saying that Jake's parents don't approve of a young mom to be their son's girlfriend, Jaclyn refused to further speak about the issue out of respect for Erap. But it seems that the actress's friendship with the former president was a bit strained because of their children's much-speculated romance. "Mahirap magsalita kasi presidente 'yan. Marami akong gustong sabihin pero hindi ko sasabihin dahil presidente 'yan ano. Love ko rin naman si Erap. Magkakaibigan kami bago it happened. Ang sa akin, give it to the children. Let [them] fall in love."
In the meantime, she's really proud of Andi's performance in the movie A Secret Affair. The veteran actress explained that she wasn't really shocked with Andi's daring role since she pursued bolder roles back in the '80s. "Yung love scene nila ni Derek (Ramsay) sa construction site, sabi ni Andi, 'I didn't realize that I could do such [a wild love scene]'. Nahihiya daw siya. Sabi ko naman, masusubok talaga yung maturity mo sa acting. Instead of dumaan ka sa pasweet sweet tumalon ka na sa mature roles. Hindi naman [ako nagulat] kasi alam ko naman na. Tsaka okay lang yun compared sa nagawa ko," she exclaimed with a laugh.
According to Jaclyn, having Andi as a daughter is the reason why she never regretted her past relationship with Mark Gil. "Oo, wala na yun. Tatay na lang siya ni Andi. Ako naman ay may ibang buhay. [Kung meron man pinagmanahan si Andi pagdating sa acting] siguro sa dugo naming lahat. Ilang generation na 'yang Eigenmann. Siguro pakonti-konti may nakuha siya kay Rosemarie Gil at sa ibang kamag-anak na nasa industriya. Tapos malaking factor sa akin [namana yung galing sa pag-arte]."
