Despite the growing number of celebrity breakups, Toni Gonzaga said that there’s no need for her to worry about her relationship with director Paul Soriano. “Wala naman formula ang isang relationship on how it's going to last. It’s a matter of how committed people are to each other. If one of them decides to give up, then that’s when it ends. Siyempre we (she and Paul) always pray that it won’t happen to us, so far so good, with God's grace.”Although they’ve been together for five years, they still don’t have plans to settle down anytime soon. Asked if she’s just waiting for Paul to propose to her, Toni wittily replied, “Oh my goodness! Not yet. I think darating tayo diyan. Wala pang ring. Hindi naman ako naghihintay. I’m just enjoying everything right now. Walang dahilan. Hindi rin naman parents [ang pumipigil sa amin]. It’s my personal choice and his choice na rin [for us] to continue to be each other's partner in everything, [but] there's no rush [for marriage],” she reiterated.
As it is, they’re both busy with their respective careers. While Toni remains as one of the most visible stars on ABS-CBN, direk Paul continues to receive praise for his movie Thelma in film fests abroad. “I’m very happy for him. Thelma won a Bronze Palm Award [at the 2012 Mexico International Film Festival] and he’s leaving next week [for another film festival]. So I’m very proud of him. I support him all the way.”
